Asheville Homes with Acreage for Sale
When we think of real estate with acreage in the Asheville area, we’re usually talking about larger tracts of land with at least 5 acres of land. These properties often have an existing home, but some are completely raw land. These parcels are typically located a bit further out from town, as most of our urban areas have very few large, undeveloped tracts remaining. But there are opportunities to buy more acreage as you leave Asheville and go south into the Cane Creek Valley near Fairview, west towards Candler, north towards Weaverville‘s Reems Creek Valley and Madison County, or east towards Old Fort, Marion, and other parts of McDowell County.
Large tracts are sought after by buyers looking for a private estate, a family compound, or even a “bug-out” property to escape to in uncertain times. Builders and developers also are searching for properties like these, so there can be competition for prime, centrally-located parcels.
Existing homes on large estates may be older farmhouses, quaint cabins, or even contemporary mountain homes. Buyers can use the additional acreage to create their own hiking trails, build more structures, or just enjoy the peace and quiet.
